Beautiful Views of Mt. Fuji, Suruga Bay and Numazu
At just 193 m tall and located around 1 km southeast of Numazu Station, Mt. Kanuki is an easily accessible and very hikeable mountain. Alongside Senbon Matsubara and Osezaki Cape, it is beloved by locals as a symbol of Numazu.
While hiking, you can admire the seasonal flora, such as springtime cherry blossoms, hydrangeas in early summer, and autumn foliage. Near the top of the mountain is an elevated observation deck with beautiful views of the city, Suruga Bay and, on clear days, Mt. Fuji. There’s also a classic five-story pagoda and a rest area with shops and restrooms partway up the mountain.
